Ben Burghaus has studied music performance in percussion at the University of Georgia’s Hugh Hodgson School of Music in Athens, Ga., with Timothy Adams Jr., former principal timpanist of the Pittsburgh Symphony.

He was a member of the University of Georgia Wind Ensemble and the University of Georgia Percussion Ensemble. He performed on "Street Song," the UGA Wind Ensemble's latest album, released July 3, 2012.

While at UGA, Ben has participated in a music production internship with the Georgia Public Broadcasting music radio program "Just Off the Radar," and has also interned for Joel Byron, guitar technician for the rock band Widespread Panic.

He has worked with drum lines at his alma mater South Gwinnett High School in Snellville, Ga., as well as at Archer High School and Mountain View High School, both located in Lawrenceville, Ga. He has also taught private lessons to aid students with audition preparation.

In the spring of 2013, he received a certificate in music business from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business and also completed a music minor in the UGA Hugh Hodgson School of Music. In December of 2013, he graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in computer science at the University of Georgia.

Ben currently plays percussion for worship services and events at the UGA Presbyterian Student Center in Athens.
